Description
ARI Movement and CESS did not formally cooperate in the past, until the recent series of discussion seminars around the concept of Democratic Governance, including the fundamental principles of transparency, accountability and parliamentary oversight. During three consecutive discussion seminars in Eskisehir, Kocaeli and Fethiye, the difficulties faced today in upholding the principles of democratic governance were explored, thought about and discussed. Introductions were given from a European as well as a Turkish perspective to firstly explore the theoretical framework of democratic governance, and secondly the possible differences between the European and the Turkish case. The sessions provided ample opportunity for the mixed audience, stemming from an academic, political and business point of view, to respond to the subject and voice their opinions.
