Introductory Training Course on Security System Reform

Where and when

16-20 November 2009, RACVIAC - Centre for Security Cooperation, Zagreb (Croatia)

The countries of South East Europe (SEE) are presently going through different stages of the transformation process and have already achieved certain levels of democratisation. Reforming the security system into a democratic and professional service for the citizens is of great importance to the SEE region's long-term stability and economic development. Moreover, it is a precondition for Euro-Atlantic integration. In order to support the accession processes of the SEE countries, CESS together with RACVIAC conducts an Introductory Course on Security System Reform. The objectives of the course are: - To promote better understanding of democratic governance in the security sector and Security System Reform - To help and encourage the SEE countries to develop their own capacity for SSR.
